Leonie Ireland was named Employee of the Year in 2012 for her outstanding performance and leadership at an operational level.
She demonstrated care and tremendous advocacy on behalf of her clients, her staff and colleagues as well.
Leonie was instrumental in her role as Quality Governance Project Manager for maintaining our DHS Service Standards accreditation.
“The emotion that came with the announcement was indescribable. I have never experienced anything like it before, and I don’t think I’ll ever experience anything like it again. It will go down as one of the most memorable experiences of my life,” Leonie said.
The long-serving staff member has since become the Maintenance Officer responsible for overseeing the upkeep and repairs of more than 1000 properties across the state.
“Since changing roles I’ve been on a real learning curve. I’ve had to broaden my knowledge of Essential Safety Measure (ESM) regulation and compliance,” Leonie said.
“Much of my motivation has been inspired by the work that ESM brings to my role and I look forward to further developing my knowledge and skills in this area.”
